From Mission

Looking up words in a conventional dictionary is one of the least efficient and most wasteful activities of language learning. Very often a student forgets the meaning of the word as soon as she/he closes the dictionary.

Our mission is not to make you a linguist, so the "purity" of language should not bother you at this point. For this reason, the Language Bridge method does not contain grammar exercises. When you are just learning to speak a new language, learning grammar rules is not only senseless, but harmful as far as developing your ability to fluently express yourself. Using Language Bridge, you will learn to speak correctly but without memorizing the rules of grammar.
Use your own experience: Can you remember all the grammatical rules of your native language? What rule do you use when you write cuisine but pronounce it [kwizi:n]?

In most cases, our speech is formed by communication, the quantity and quality of studied literature, education, or simply our surrounding environment. During systematic simultaneous repetition, one develops an inner sense of the language, and the ability to imitate correct pronunciation of words and phrases. This is sometimes referred to as "ring-a-bell-grammar". To allow you to develop this inner grammatical instinct, the Language Bridge course has no grammar exercises or explanations of grammatical rules.
In case you later decide to go into a field that requires knowledge of grammar such as journalism, philology, or translation, you will certainly learn grammar. At that point, you will learn the English grammar in the English language without an interference of any other language.

From letters

The most important lesson I've learned from “Language Bridge” is the importance of attitude and state of mind-to think in Russian. To be Russian! (Okay, that's a little too much.) The excercises are practical, and the speaker on the tapes articulates so clearly and slowly that I'm sure it will relax my accent. I am very much looking forward to continuing my study of Russian. Thank you very much for your efforts.
